News and Updates

 =======================================

Charles Matticks and his

"SATURDAY WITNESS BAND" are playing  contemporary Christian music at Trinity, at

6.30pm. every second Sunday of the month!!

They will be here next Sunday, 12th September!

  •  GRACELAND

This is a ‘Place of Safety’ for abandoned children in Birchleigh North. We have been involved with the home virtually from its inception. Because of the very low subsidy that is received per child per day, it is essential that additional funding is found. A number of our home groups have elected to support it – mostly ‘cash in kind’ and voluntary help like transport etc – but the real need is for cash to help meet overheads like salaries, utilities etc.

If you would like to know more and where you could help please call the office.

  • STOP HUNGER NOW

This is a new project that we are a part of. The programme is about packing food parcels for the poorest of the poor. Each pack contains six meals (each meal has a nutritional value  enough to carry a person through a normal working day). Each meal costs R2.00 or R12.00 per pack. Recently seven of our youth were trained as ‘line leaders’ for an upcoming pack where the target was 80,000 meals!!!   For more info again please contact the church office.

70 000 meals were packed for STOP HUNGER NOW

IN GERMISTON on the 19th June.   Thanks to all who assisted!

Phone Don on 083 415 0263 to register as a volunteer for future packing events; or Colin on 083 417 6877 to sponsor meals.

  •  TEACHING PROGRAMMES

One of the exciting additions to the range of the teaching materials we use is the ‘Disciple Short Courses’. We have been using the Disciple series for some years now but have run into the problem of time and the length of these courses (32 weeks), so now the intro of short courses (10 – 20 weeks)

 ‘Genesis’ has been completed.
